Date Night Ideas for Married Couples

romantic married coupleThe key element to a date night for married couples is surprise. The good and bad thing about marriage is that you get comfortable. Comfortable can be good but it can also be boring. For a great romantic idea, always pick something that will make them realize you still have a little mystery in you. Besides, it is fun to see the shocked look on your significant other’s face when they arrive somewhere to do something new and exciting.

Rub the Right Way

With all the stresses in life, bills, kids, home ownership, work and more, nothing beats a massage. Massage classes are cheap and a little investment goes a long way. You can incorporate what you learn all throughout your future together, and helping one another unwind after a hard day is a sure sign of appreciation.

Laughter is the Best Medicine

A sense of humor is crucial to making a marriage work. Sometimes you just forget to laugh, so a great date night can be checking out the local comedy club. Even if the comedian is bad, there is proof that couples not only bond over liking the same things but over disliking them too.

Shopping Date

Nothing makes you feel better than having your spouse pick something out for you that they like. Not only is it an ego boost, but also there is an opportunity for plenty of laughter. Have your spouse pick out things for you to try on and vice versa. If you’re feeling brave, you can even go to a thrift store and set a price limit. After you choose something go out to dinner or bowling in the outfits. This has the potential to be hilarious.

Ghost Hunt

Whether you believe or not, ghost hunting on a specialized tour can be a thrill. Most towns have a ghost walk or tour, especially near Halloween. If you can’t find a tour make your own, look up haunted places on your computer and visit them. Not only will you have a bit of a historical tour which most men love, you get to hold each other real close and get your adrenaline going…which gets the libido going too. (Bonus!)

Be a Tourist

You may have lived in your city for years, yet there are tons of things you have not seen because you are speeding past each day. Make a day of seeing the sights that you’ve always said, “We need to go there” as you pass. You can even park your car and use the city’s public transportation for an extra adventure, and if you really want to go all out you can book a night’s stay at one of the top hotels in the area.

Reenactment

No, I am not talking about visiting battlefields. Although that can be fun too! A very fun thing to do is reenact your very first date. This gives you a chance to reminisce and perhaps bring back the spark you two had when you first fell in love.
